The Honest Story Behind My Marketplace Reviews
I actually opened my marketplace accounts before I even started learning SEO in March 2024. But I didn’t want to take cheap, small jobs just to get quick reviews. I wanted to focus on full, monthly SEO projects because getting real ranking results and growing a business is what I actually enjoy.
To force myself to wait until I was a real expert, I intentionally deleted my Fiverr account. I meant to delete my Upwork account too, but I made a lucky mistake and left it open! That mistake actually saved me, because I still get my 10 free connects every month.
After two years of hard work, I finally returned to these platforms as an expert. But I had some bad luck. While I was busy mastering my skills, the marketplaces lost a huge amount of buyers:
Fiverr lost about 500,000 to 600,000 active buyers, dropping down to around 2.9 million in early 2026.
Upwork lost about 48,000 active clients, falling to just 784,000 by early 2026.

SHIED WORLD is my current portfolio site, but there is a much bigger story behind it. My ultimate goal in life is to become a Cyber Security Expert. Right now, providing SEO services is the investment for that journey. A specific portion of the income I earn from ranking businesses is directly invested into my personal learning. I do not learn these skills from traditional universities. I learn personally through deep, hands-on study. Currently, I am also learning Full Stack Web Development. Understanding exactly how websites are built makes me a monster-level expert in Technical SEO and builds a solid foundation for my future in cyber security.
Eventually, I will master these three fields: SEO, Web Development, and Cyber Security. Once I am ready, my plan is to open an agency focused strictly on these three industries. Keeping the services limited allows me, as the owner, to personally monitor the quality of every single project. I want to build a team of experts so skilled that clients will not even realize who the boss is. I already decided to name this future agency SHIED WORLD. We have all seen how crazy domain prices can get. For example, the domain ai.com was reportedly purchased from resellers for around $11 million! To avoid paying massive amounts of dollars to domain squatters in the future, I bought the domain now and am using it to build a strong reputation early.
The name itself also holds a deep personal meaning. “SHIED” is my professional nickname. “WORLD” comes from my biggest dream in life. I want to travel the globe, experience different cultures, make new friends, and enjoy everything the Creator has made on this Earth. SHIED WORLD is the combination of my name and my life’s biggest desire. This massive ambition is exactly what drives me to deliver exceptional results. I am building the foundation of a future empire, and that standard of excellence is applied to every single business I work with today.
