These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern the use of the SHIED WORLD Schema Markup WordPress plugin (“the Plugin”), developed and maintained by SHIED WORLD (“we,” “us,” “our”). By downloading, installing, or using the Plugin, you (“the User”) agree to these Terms.
1. License
The Plugin is distributed as free and open-source software under the GNU General Public License, version 2 or later (GPLv2+), consistent with WordPress’s own licensing requirements. You are free to use, modify, and redistribute the Plugin in accordance with the terms of the GPLv2 license. A copy of this license is included with the Plugin and is available at gnu.org/licenses/gpl-2.0.html.
2. No Cost, No Premium Tier
The Plugin, including all schema types, features, and functionality described in its documentation, is provided entirely free of charge. There is no paid version, premium tier, or feature restriction tied to payment. This does not prevent SHIED WORLD from separately offering unrelated paid services, such as professional SEO consulting, through its own website.
3. Acceptable Use
You agree to use the Plugin in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. You agree not to use the Plugin to generate structured data that is knowingly false, misleading, or intended to manipulate search engine results in violation of a search engine’s own published guidelines, such as Google’s structured data guidelines. Responsibility for the accuracy and honesty of the content entered into the Plugin’s fields rests entirely with the User.
4. No Warranty
The Plugin is provided “as is,” without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not guarantee that the Plugin will be error-free, uninterrupted, or fully compatible with every WordPress theme, plugin combination, or hosting environment.
We do not guarantee any specific search engine outcome, ranking improvement, or rich result eligibility as a result of using the Plugin. Structured data is one of many factors search engines consider, and its presence does not guarantee any particular search result appearance.
5. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, SHIED WORLD and its developer shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of, or inability to use, the Plugin, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of search engine visibility, or any business interruption, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.
6. Third-Party AI Services (Optional Feature)
The Plugin includes an optional feature that allows Users to connect their own API key from a third-party AI provider to receive schema type suggestions. Use of this feature is entirely optional and requires the User to supply their own account and API key with their chosen provider.
Any costs, usage limits, terms of service, or data handling practices associated with the third-party AI provider are governed entirely by that provider’s own terms, and are the sole responsibility of the User. SHIED WORLD is not a party to any agreement between the User and their chosen AI provider, does not process payments for these services, and bears no responsibility for the availability, accuracy, cost, or output of any third-party AI service.
7. Modifications to the Plugin
We reserve the right to modify, update, or discontinue any feature of the Plugin at any time. We will make reasonable efforts to maintain backward compatibility for saved schema data across updates, but cannot guarantee this in every circumstance, particularly following major changes to the underlying schema.org vocabulary or WordPress core.
8. Bundled Third-Party Data
The Plugin bundles a copy of the schema.org vocabulary, published by the schema.org project under a Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike license. This vocabulary data is used to power the Plugin’s schema type and property definitions. Use of this bundled data within the Plugin does not grant the User any rights beyond those provided by the original license, and the schema.org project is not affiliated with, and does not endorse, SHIED WORLD or the Plugin.
9. Intellectual Property
The Plugin’s source code is licensed under GPLv2+ as stated in Section 1. The “SHIED WORLD Schema Markup” name, and the SHIED WORLD brand name and logo, remain the property of SHIED WORLD and are not licensed for use in derivative works that could suggest official affiliation or endorsement, without prior written permission.
10. Termination
You may stop using the Plugin at any time by deactivating and deleting it from your WordPress installation. These Terms remain in effect for as long as you use the Plugin, and the provisions regarding warranty, liability, and intellectual property survive any termination of use.
11. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws applicable in Bangladesh, without regard to conflict of law principles, unless otherwise required by the mandatory consumer protection laws of the User’s own jurisdiction.
12. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes in the Plugin’s functionality or applicable legal requirements. Continued use of the Plugin after any such changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. Material changes will be reflected in the “Last updated” date at the top of this page.
