This Privacy Policy explains how the SEO, AEO, GEO & Potential AI Discovery Checker browser extension (referred to as “the Extension”), developed by SHIED WORLD, handles information.
Summary
The Extension does not collect, store, transmit, or sell any personal data. Every check it performs runs locally inside your own browser. Nothing about the pages you scan is sent to SHIED WORLD or to any third party server.
What The Extension Does
When you click Scan This Page, the Extension reads the content of the page you are currently viewing, including its HTML, meta tags, headings, schema markup, and related files such as robots.txt, sitemap.xml, and llms.txt. It uses this information to generate a score and a report directly inside the extension popup, on your own device.
When you use the Compare With Competitor feature, the Extension opens the competitor URL you provide in a background browser tab, scans that page using the same local process, then closes the tab automatically. This scan is also performed entirely within your own browser.
When you click Export As PDF, the Extension generates a PDF report using the data already gathered during your scan. This report is created and downloaded directly on your device. It is not uploaded anywhere.
Data We Do Not Collect
The Extension does not collect your name, email address, IP address, browsing history, or any other personal information. It does not use cookies, analytics, tracking pixels, or any third party advertising service. It does not require you to create an account or sign in.
Local Storage
The Extension uses your browser’s local storage only to temporarily remember your most recent scan result for the page you are viewing, so the result is still visible if you close and reopen the extension popup without reloading the page. This information stays on your device and is automatically cleared when you reload or navigate away from the page, or when you close the browser tab. It is never transmitted anywhere.
Permissions
The Extension requests the following browser permissions, each used only for the purpose described below.
Host permission for all websites (all_urls): required because the Extension needs to read the content of whatever page you choose to scan. Since users audit many different websites, a fixed list of domains would not work.
Scripting permission: required to run the scanning logic on the page you are viewing.
Storage permission: required to temporarily save your most recent scan result on your own device, as described above.
None of these permissions are used to collect, transmit, or share data with SHIED WORLD or any third party.
Third Party Services
The Extension does not integrate with any third party analytics, advertising, or data collection service. The PDF export feature uses a locally bundled, open source library (jsPDF) that runs entirely within your browser and does not communicate with any external server.
Children’s Privacy
The Extension is a professional SEO and website analysis tool and is not directed at children. It does not knowingly collect information from anyone.
Changes To This Policy
If this Privacy Policy is updated, the revised version will be posted on this page with a new “Last updated” date.
